The
library
at
the
Institute
holds
comprehensive
collections
on
anthropology,
sociology,
psychology,
religion,
aboriginal
society
and
history,
and
Southeast
Asia.
The
library's
holdings
number
over
168,000
volumes
in
Chinese,
Korea,
Japanese,
and
English,
26,000
volumes
of
bound
periodicals,
over
560
current
periodicals,
over
690 E-books/journals,
and
a
considerable
number
of
electronic
databases
resources
subscriptions,
microfiche
and
microfilm
materials.
The
library
makes
an
effort
to
catalogue
and update
all
of
the
articles
in
major
journals,
and
bibliographies
of
postwar
Chinese
and
Japanese
works
on
Taiwan
anthropology
and
of
works
on
overseas
Chinese.
Other major
library
collections
include
Human
Relations
Area
Files,
Survey
Research
Data
on
Religion,
and
archaic
land-contract
data.
These
data
have
been
digitalized
and
transferred
to
hard-disk
or
CD-ROM,
and
are
generally
available
to
individuals
with
a
computer
and
Internet
connection.
Since
its
establishment,
the
Institute
has
published
more
than
108
monographs
and
ninety
issues
of
the
Bulletin
of
the
Institute
of
Ethnology,
Academia
Sinica.
In
2002,
the
Bulletin
was
renamed
the
Taiwan
Journal
of
Anthropology
(TJA).
The
journal bilingual
(Chinese
and
English)
editorial
committee
is
composed
of
anthropologists
from
both
Academia
Sinica and
overseas.
The
TJA
is
published
twice
yearly.
The
latest,
Volume
9/Number
2, was
published
in
December
2011.

Publications
The library regularly produces works dealing with cultural
anthropology, psychology, and related fields. Regular
publications of the IOE include the bi-annual Taiwan
Journal of Anthropology, monographs, occasional paper
collections, as well as edited volumes.
