1956: The Specimen Room of the Institute of Ethnology, Academia Sinica, was established.
1978: The Specimen Room was renamed the“Ling Chun-Sheng Memorial Specimen Room”.
1988: The Specimen Room became the Institute museum, and named “The Museum of the Institute of Ethnology”.
