The Central Academic Advisory Committee of Academia Sinica, established in 1991, supervises each Institute's individual advisory committee. The President of Academia Sinica appoints committee members, whose terms last for three years. The main task of the advisory committee is to evaluate the direction of future research, review research results of the institute, and to advise on important institute affairs.
