近年對於原住民的相關研究，不僅議題增加，而且越來越貼緊社會變遷脈動。
由順益台灣原住民博物館和中央研究院民族所，合作辦理的「2014年臺灣原住民族國際學術研討會」，是此研究領域重要里程碑之一。
會中邀請澳大利亞考古學者Peter Bellwood教授、英國文化史專家Roger Blench教授及台灣語言學者李壬癸院士，根據各自畢生研究精華，發表主題演講，更是會議耀眼的成果。
大會並成立編輯委員會，按照會議主題完成紀念叢書，共有四冊：
第一冊：考古、歷史與原住民：臺灣族群關係研究新視野
第二冊：當代臺灣原住民族的文化展演與主體建構：觀光、博物館、文化資產與、影像媒體
第三冊：宗教、法律與國家：新時代的文化復振
第四冊：民族、地理與發展：人地關係研究的跨學科交會
這套由順益台灣原住民博物館出版、南天書局印製發行的紀念叢書，既是對當前臺灣南島語系原住民族研究的全面性回顧、檢討，對未來研究的前瞻開展亦有所助益，值得關注本議題的研究者及社會大眾參考及收藏！
